College in Torrance opens special program applications

Applications are now being accepted for the South Bay Promise program at El Camino College in Torrance.

This is a program that enables first-time, full-time college students who are enrolled in the program that pays for the enrollment fees for the first two years and offers additional counseling and other services to these students. Personalized support orientations and a Surface laptop are also offered to these students. They are assisted with navigating the college experience and have access to learning communities so that they can either enter the workforce after finishing their studies with a technical degree in two years or be able to transfer to a four-year college or university.

Brochure printing is often used to provide more information about such programs and their benefits for students.

Students who are eligible for this program are to attend the college directly after graduating from high school. In addition to filling out an Application for Admission to the college, students need to complete an application for the program. They also need to complete a form that determines their eligibility for financial aid; meet with a counselor at the college to create an education plan; determine in which of the support and success programs they want to enroll; and register for a minimum of 12 units for each semester beginning in the Fall of 2020.
