The Renaissance Pleasure Faire will take place in Irwindale starting next month and is an event that residents of Torrance will not want to miss.
Poster printing can be used throughout the region to promote such annual events.
The Faire will feature a wide variety of entertainment, including jousters, country garden and aerial dancers, magic, and juggling. Daredevils playing with swords and marionettes are also a tradition at the Faire. There will also be a Pub Crawl at the Faire, where participants visit five pubs, receiving one drink at each location, which can range from cider to anything on tap. There are two crawls each day of the Faire.
New this year will be an Elizabethan Costume Contest and Elizabethan Trivia contests as well as a Gnome Hunt and Bumroll Boogie which is an epic dance battle that dates to the 1500s. Several themed weekends will be featured at the Faire, including Pirate Weekend, Marketplace Weekend, and Traveler Weekend, the highlight of which will be a Steampunk Costume Contest.
The Faire celebrates the late 1500s, when Queen Elizabeth I would take time to visit the towns, estates, and countryside of Port Deptford, England where she ruled. Entertainment and other festivities would be offered wherever she stopped.
The Faire will be held at the Santa Fe Dam Recreation Area on Saturdays and Sundays from April 4 through May 20.
