This Superbowl Sunday, athletes can enjoy a different type of competition.
The 37th Annual Superbowl Sunday 5K and 10K will touchdown in Redondo Beach, just a few miles away from Torrance. Participants can choose to sign up for the 10K run, 5K run or walk, or the baby buggy 10K.
Registrants will be given a race T-shirt. There will also be music, awards for the top three finishers in several categories, and a costume contest. Through January 29, registration costs $37 and then increases to $42.
The Redondo Beach Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Bureau will host this event, which is expected to have at least 9,000 participants. With big events like this, it is likely a banner printing service provider has been asked to make large Signs to welcome attendees.
Before or after the race, athletes and their guests can enjoy a free health and fitness expo with refreshments, along with plenty of running and fitness products.
The race will take place on February 1. Registration opens at 6:00am, with the 5K beginning at 7:30am, the Baby Buggy 10K at 8:15am, and the 10K off and running at 8:30am. The expo will take place on January 31 from 10:00am until 4:00 pm and February 1 from 6:00am until 11:00am.
