Orange County high school student aces AP Spanish exam

A student at Santa Ana High School earned a perfect score on the advanced placement (AP) Spanish test, joining an elite club of only 54 students around the globe to have done so.

Noeli Zarate no doubt expected to score highly on her AP Spanish Language and Culture test, but neither she nor anyone else could have anticipated just how well the Santa Ana senior would do. In response to hearing she had answered every question correctly, Santa Ana Unified School District revealed Noeli said:

"I was surprised by the results considering the complexity of the exam. I honestly did not study much because you can't really prepare for it."

The rarity of the youngster’s accomplishment could be used to the school and the city’s benefit if included by brochure printers in the promotional materials for Santa Ana High School, as well as the city of Santa Ana.

Jeff Bishop, her principal at Santa Ana High School, said of the young brainbox:

"Noeli embodies the amazing potential that exists in all students if they just begin to look at themselves differently."

In addition to Zarate’s exceptional performance on the AP Spanish Language exam, the Guanajato, Mexico native also sports a 4.6 GPA. Surprisingly though, the senior has not settled on a college to attend this fall.
