A popular Santa Ana event is back in early August, bringing a special experience to the local community.
The Orange County Lantern Festival incorporates an eye-catching practice that is used in many places throughout the world. Decorated paper lanterns are floated out onto the water. The decorations are personal to each maker and may feature messages of hope, wishes for the future, tributes to loved ones, motivational notes, celebrations of important milestones, or even pictures.
Sending out the lanterns acts as a symbol for releasing the message and feelings associated with it, allowing people to let go of anything weighing on them.
People of all ages are welcome to attend and customize their own lantern. The festival is also a social experience, allowing everyone to spend time with people they care about, as well as make new friends.
While guests can bring food and drinks, the event does not allow alcohol. There will also be food trucks on site.
The lanterns are collected and recycled after the event, and the LED candles inside are reused, making the festival more sustainable.
Music will add to the ambiance of the event. Tickets are sold on the event’s website for $37.99. At the gate, the cost will be $57.99. The venue is Santa Ana’s Centennial Park. Flyer printing is a popular promotion technique for many outdoor experiences.
The event will be held on August 1, 2, and 3, between 5:00 pm and 9:00 pm each evening.
