The Walt Disney Company is opening an exhibition that will showcase the company’s history.
Called “Inside the Walt Disney Archives: 50 Years of Preserving the Magic,” the exhibition will showcase over 400 of the company’s objects that have been stored in the archives, including production models for popular movies such as Peter Pan and Frozen. Other features that will be on display are the set for the office that was used in Saving Mr. Banks, sketches that were used to create Fantasia and the ghouls in the ride called Haunted Mansion, along with plenty of superhero costumes.
This traveling exhibit is more than 10,000 square feet in areas and is the same one that was used at an exposition in Japan last year. D23 Disney fan club members and members of Bowers Museum will be granted exclusive access to the show’s previews. Bowers members will also get access to special events like the opening day lecture held by the director of Walt Disney Archives, Becky Cline. Advertisements and printed marketing material for such events tend to feature the company’s Logo Design.
The show will start on March 7 and will run until August 30. It will be held at the Bowers Museum in Santa Ana. Tickets are being sold at $23 for adults on weekdays and $25 on weekends. Bowers members can enter free of charge.
