General William Lyon founded the Lyon Air Museum and it was named after him. Some of the museum’s displays feature rare automobiles, military aircraft, military vehicles, and other wartime memorabilia which are mainly from World War II. Printing services are often used as part of exhibits like this.
Among the veterans taking people on tours is David Wensley. He stated:
“I heard that there was an opportunity to volunteer here and be one of the guides. I was retired at the time, and I didn’t have anything high on my priority list to do, and I love to be around aircraft.
Wensley served during the Cold War and was a U.S Air Force pilot as a part of Air Defense. According to him, being a part of the exhibits at the Air Museum provides a great way for him to educate other people while still being around the airplanes that he loves.
Another veteran who will be serving as a guide is Bud Carter. He believes that being able to talk about WWII planes with the public is the perfect job for him since he served towards the end of WWII, flying a B-25 Bomber in Arizona.
