San Leandro event honors pair of iconic artists

A San Leandro venue is hosting a show which pays tribute to two popular performers in early November.

Latin Legends is a music experience, which in this case features tribute acts to both Shakira and Selena. These acts are the Selena Tribute Band and House of Shakira.

Selena became known as “the Queen of Tejano Music,” with hit tunes such as “Bidi Bidi Bom Bom,” “Como La Flor,” “Si Una Vez,” “Yo Me Voy,” and “Ven Conmigo.”

Shakira has been releasing music for decades, including popular tracks like “Whenever, Wherever,” “Hips Don’t Lie” (with Wyclef Jean), “Try Everything” (from Disney’s film “Zootopia”), “She Wolf,” and “Can’t Remember to Forget You” (featuring Rihanna).

The concert is open to people of all ages, giving families a chance to bond over their love of music. Kids are required to have an adult attending with them. Tickets are sold via Ticketmaster at prices ranging between $32.50 and $69.60 at the time of writing.

The venue for the performance is the Historic BAL Theatre, which has been running and hosting a variety of arts related events for over 70 years, originally opening in 1946. Many music focused events will have commemorative merchandise with the Logo Design of the show on it, which is offered for sale to the attendees.

The concert kicks off at 7:30 pm on Saturday, November 2.
