An event taking place in a month is giving a tasty natural treat a platform.
The San Leandro Cherry Festival is a celebration which started in 1909, making this experience one of the longest-running traditions in the local community. The event showcases the city’s history, where it is now, and what could be arriving in the days ahead.
Local vendors will have a number of new offerings, some of which will have the cherry theme, just like the festival. The types of products fill a wide range, leaving something available for everyone. Restaurants will also be present with delicious dishes to purchase and try out. An area will also have several types of cherries which were freshly grown for attendees to sample.
The San Leandro Cherry Parade will start off the day’s festivities. Local organizations will travel through the city’s E. 14th street, using a mix of vintage vehicles and special floats. Some parade participants will also be dressed in unique costumes. The procession will run for 60 minutes, from 10:00am to 11:00am.
Attending the parade and festival is free for everyone. Spots can be reserved through EventBrite, which will help the staff be prepared for how many people to expect. Many annual, city-led events use flyer printing as a promotion technique when gearing up for the current year’s edition. The festival itself will run between 11:00am and 6:00pm at 384 West Estudillo Avenue. The date will be June 7th.
