Local zoo plans outdoor activities for San Leandro residents

Animal lovers and parents of young children will want to leave space in the calendar next month, as a unique experience will be held at a zoo near San Leandro.

The Leap and Hop event starts at the Oakland Zoo in a few weeks, and children between 5 and 6 are being invited to join the festivities. The course is designed to teach participants more about leaping animals and the ways these animals function. The educational event is designed to allow children to learn and grow independently, offering a unique learning experience.

Each child participating in the event must have a parent or guardian chaperone to sign them in. Parents are not allowed to stay with their children, creating an ideal learning environment for each guest. Parents of children with special needs can contact the zoo at lisa@oaklandzoo.org. Events like this are perfect for brochure printing to share information learned from the course.

The event will proceed with rain or shine, and parents should dress their children accordingly. In the event of heavy rain, the course will move indoors for comfort and safety.

The Oakland Zoo will host the event, which is scheduled to begin at 9:30am and continue until noon on Saturday, February 10th. Admission costs $40 for non-members and $35 for members, and interested parties can make reservations online.
