Exhibition and contest shows off unique vehicles

A show filled with adrenaline is giving San Leandro residents an opportunity to make some incredible memories in mid-March.

Monster Jam is a sport involving gigantic, modified trucks that perform a variety of stunts and race each other within a high-adrenalin atmosphere. Each event includes contests in freestyle, donuts, skills, and racing. All of these involve judges, and some even allow the audience to take part in the voting process.

While the lineup is subject to changes, the listed roster for the local shows include trucks and drivers such as Sparkle Smash (driven by Kayla Blood), Grave Digger (Adam Anderson), Kraken (Nick Pagliarulo), El Toro Loco (Jamey Garner), and JCB DIGatron (Tristan England).

There are a number of VIP and special experience options, which range from $20 per person to $200. Regular tickets to the shows are sold through Ticketmaster along with some of these VIP experiences. Tickets are required for everyone starting at age two. Prices range from $26.10 to $123.90.

There are three shows over two days. The venue is the Oakland Arena, which is only a couple of miles from San Leandro. Many sporting events will see the company behind them hire some printing services to put their logo on a variety of merchandise.

On Saturday, March 15, there are events at 1:00pm and 7:00pm. Sunday, March 16 has one show at 1:00pm.
