San Diego to play Wicked Game
A singer/songwriters noted for his talent as a guitarist will be appearing soon in San Diego.
Chris Isaak was born in Stockton, California, attended high school there and went on to study at the University of the Pacific, also in Stockton. He graduated in 1981 with a bachelor’s in communications.
In 1984, Warner Bros. Records signed him, and he released his debut album, “Silvertone,” the following year. The album was not a success but three of its tracks did well: “Dancin’,” “Gone Ridin’,” and “Livin’ for Your Lover.” The first was also released a s music video, while the latter two songs were used in the film “Blue Velvet.”
In 1988, Isaak moved to a different Warner Bros. imprint, Reprise Records, and on that label, he released “Heart Shaped World” in 1989. The album, which contained the smash hit “Wicked Game,” was a Top 20 hit in nine countries, the RIAA certified it 3X Platinum, and it climbed to No. 7 on the Billboard 200 chart. As if 2022, Isaak had released 13 studio albums, eight of which had been rated Gold, Silver, or Platinum, or some combination thereof; 1995’s “Forever Blue” went 3X Platinum.
