Plans in the works for Northridge quilting celebration

National Quilting Day is on the March calendar, and in Northridge, a local group will be celebrating the occasion in a public way.

The first ever Quilt Walk will see a selection of handmade quilts on display in storefronts in the section of Reseda Boulevard that goes from Rayen and Nordhoff. The public can admire these functional works of art.

The whole family can enjoy the assortment of activities that have been planned to mark National Quilting Day, and Quilting for Community, which is organizing the celebration, will have a variety of stations set up for the community to enjoy. The goal is to help spread to word about how much fun this activity can be, whether as a solo or group project.

Kingdom Sewing will be joining the festivities by hosting a fiber arts and craft fair, where the public can purchase materials and finished pieces as well. A banner printing company can create reusable roll-up Banners and other items that can help to spread the word to the local area about a function like this, which can be especially helping in raising awareness about a new event.

The inaugural Quilt Walk will be taking place in Northridge on Saturday, March 21. Quilting for Community’s website is the place to go for further details about the day.
