Those who are over 50 and considering starting their own company may find the upcoming “Work for Yourself 50 Plus” workshop useful.
Northridge older adults will have an opportunity to sit in on a seminar that will aid them in deciding if being their own boss is right for them. It will address the topic from the ground floor up, and will provide them with information to help them get the process started.
During the workshop, the audience will be led through a five step system designed to make the choice more approachable. It will begin with an evaluation of the benefits and risks of being self-employed, and from there, the group will find out how they can develop their idea, ways of avoiding scams and other pitfalls, and also sources of support that exist in their own home community.
While this function will be hosted online, each registrant will be sent a hard copy version of the “Work for Yourself 50 Plus” toolkit. These sorts of materials can be prepared by Print shops, and often include promotional Pens and other items.
This online learning opportunity, which will be hosted by El Camino, will be taking place next Saturday, October 24. Registration is required to participate.
