Residents of Northridge who have always wondered what happens to their recyclables and other trash after it has been picked up at the curb will soon have an opportunity to learn more about the area’s recycling and other waste disposal programs.
LA Sanitation department has planned a special event that will give the public a behind-the-scenes look at its day-to-day recycling operations, with an emphasis on curbside and bulky item collection practices. There is no charge to take part, and all ages are welcome.
Those who attend the open house will be able to see trash trucks up close to discover how they operate, and there will also be demonstrations of other equipment as well. There will be recycling games for the kids, information booths and other activities, and refreshments will be served to the crowd.
The planners of this occasion noted that it will be staffed by volunteers from the city who wish to give back to their community. The giveaways of food and “swag” will continue as long as supplies last. A local Promotional Products supplier can provide branded items to distribute during a public event such as this.
The open house will be on offer to the public on June 30 at 2027 Stoner Ave in Los Angles. It is scheduled to begin at 9:00 am, and it will run until 1:30 pm.
