For those caring for someone living with Alzheimer’s or another form of dementia, an online workshop series can provide people in Northridge who are in this role with both information and support.
Alzheimer’s Los Angeles has created its virtual Caregiver Workshop series to help those in the local area. Offered at no cost, it will explore a variety of topics, and some of the options will be delivered over a series of sessions.
The series will open with a class that will address the common behaviors seen in dementia patients, and the next workshop will be a deep dive into how a caregiver can make a home safe for the person they are looking after. The agenda will then move on to a viewing and discussion of the short film “Lost Memories”, and the public is also welcome to register for the Savvy Express program, which will also be running throughout the month.
These classes have been carefully designed so that they offer the maximum amount of learning in a short period of time. A poster printing company will be able to supply a variety of ways of promoting these sort of learning activities in the local area.
This series of caregiver workshops will begin on January 12, and the Savvy Express program will start on January 14. More details about how to register can be found on the Patch listing for the occasion.
