In the spirit of an ounce of prevention being worth a pound of cure, an emergency preparation event will be on offer in the Northridge area this fall.
This free afternoon will be all about being well-prepared should an earthquake occur in the area. Open to the public, there will be remarks from an assortment of speakers, as well as a vendor fair, and local law enforcement, firefighters and other first responders will also be lending their experience and expertise to the occasion.
The organizers noted that there will be more than 30 information booths to visit, and at each, the attendees can gather information, ask questions, and pick up some Promotional Products and other swag. They will discover what they can do to ensure the safety of themselves as well as their family and neighbors before an earthquake even occurs, as well as what to do during and after such an event.
Since everyone's living circumstances are different, the organizers have included tips for what to do should in a disaster should a family member have special needs. Animals will not be left out of the conversation, as details for caring for pets will also be part of the learning.
The second annual Westside Neighborhood Council Safety and Preparedness Fair has been scheduled for September 22. It will be taking place at 10650 Ashby Avenue in Los Angeles.
