There are steps that the public can take to help make a difference to those without a home, and these will be discussed as part of a public discussion that will bring the community together this October.
A group of policy experts is set to take to the podium during the “What Can Everyday Angelenos Do About Homelessness?” public session, and they will be talking about ways the average person can effect change. Carla Hall, who is an Editorial Board Member with the Los Angeles Times will be moderating the event, and it will begin at 7:30 pm.
The attendees at the session will learn concrete, actionable ways they can extend a helping, compassionate hand to the homeless. They will also discuss what they can do if the see someone who is homeless and in crisis, all with a goal of demonstrating ways area residents can help their neighbors in need.
By bringing community members and other stakeholders together, an event like this can be the first step in creating positive change.
