May gala celebrates 50 years of childhood education

The 50th anniversary gala of the Child and Family Studies Center is taking place next month in Northridge.

Hosted by the Department of Family and Consumer Services at California State University, Northridge, guests will be treated to light refreshments and appetizers and will have the opportunity to bid on items in a silent auction. They can also add their comments to the memory wall or view photographs from the past 50 years at the Center. In addition, several honorees will be presented with awards and introduced to those present. Guests can expect to hear several speeches from those who have worked with the Center over its history, as well as the current faculty.

The Child and Family Services Center provides education to children of all ages while providing training to those who wish to work with young children. It also functions as a research lab to help professionals develop new programs and tools for teachers.
