The exhibit 'Karla Klarin: Subdividing the LAndscape' is kicking off the new season at the CSU Northridge Art Galleries this month and will be on display until October.
The exhibition is curated by Damon Willick and is dedicated to the art of Karla Klarin. She grew up in San Fernando Valley and has concentrated on producing works based on Los Angeles landscapes. There will be over 35 of her paintings and constructions on display, including the 'Natalie’s House' series. The included works were created from 1980 to 2016.
There will be several related events taking place around the exhibition. The opening reception will be held on September 10 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm, during which guests will have a chance to meet the artist. Then, on September 12, the artist will be giving a gallery talk beginning at 10:00 am.
A printed exhibition catalog will also be available for purchase, which includes a collection of essays including words from the curator. Organizers of this exhibition may have worked with a Northridge catalog printing firm to produce this.
The exhibition will be on display at the California State University Northridge Art Galleries from August 29 to October 8. Admission is free and the gallery is open from Monday to Saturday, beginning at 12:00 noon. Call 818-677-2156 to learn more about this exhibition.
