The Son of Monsterpalooza convention is taking place next month for three days.
It is a tribute to special effects, makeup artists, monsters and collectibles.
There will be over 150 dealers on hand who will be selling items such as Posters, action figures, makeup kits and anything related to monster movies. There will also be special exhibits on display such as the Son of Conjoined dark art gallery.
The convention will feature many special guests including Kristy Swanson (the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer), Wilfred Brimley, P. J. Soles and Joel Polis. They will be participating in several discussion panels. One special panel will be The Thing 35th Anniversary which will feature cast members and artists involved with the film.
There will be a costume contest taking place that offers cash prized to the top three.
There will also be a screening of the classic film “Island of Lost Souls” which was based on “The Island of Doctor Moreau” by H. G. Wells.
This event will likely attract fans from all over the area including nearby Northridge. To spread the word, organizers may have invested in poster or brochure printing services.
The Son of Monsterpalooza will be held at the Marriott Burbank Convention Center and Hotel from September 15 to 17. Tickets are $25 each day or $60 for all three days. For the most current information, visit the official event website.
