Community bike rally rides into town

This month, cyclists and walkers can exercise and have fun at a free community event.

The ‘Ride The Colt’ bike rally is an informal ride and walk that is great for families. This easy trip spans 19 miles, including one average-sized hill. However, there are shortcuts for anyone who doesn’t want to make the long trek. Those on foot can travel up to eight miles.

Along the way, participants can see all of the cycling and walking features the area has to offer. In case of any bike problems, there will be a mid-way repair station.

In addition to the walk and ride, there will be a raffle for participants, with the numbered bibs serving as the tickets. Gift cards and a bike are some of the prizes.

In addition, post-ride refreshments will be provided, and after the event, participants may want to visit the nearby Chatsworth Depot Art Show.

The Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is sponsoring the rally. It’s likely the organization used poster printing to obtain materials for promoting the event.

On June 8th, the event starts at 9:00am at the Chatsworth Train Depot, located at 10040 Old Depot Plaza Road, a short drive from Northridge. Those who want coffee and bagels may want to come earlier.

To find out more information or to pre-register, individuals can visit the Ride the Colt website.
