Runners in Van Nuys, and those in nearby Northridge, can take part in a festive athletic event taking place just before Christmas.
The 2014 Reindeer Run is a time when individuals can put on some festive attire, like reindeer antlers, and get their hearts pumping.
Runners can choose between a 5K, 10K, 15K, half marathon, or full marathon. The route is mostly made up of counter clockwise loops and a single tiny hill. In addition, the course is ‘open’ so other walkers, runners, and cyclists may be present. As with many race events, a banner printing service has no doubt been asked to make start and finish Signs.
The lighthearted run is clock timed rather than chip timed, and all participants will be given a medal for finishing. In addition, the race results will be listed on a Better World Running Website. There will also be snacks and water to enjoy.
Registration fees begin at $19 for the 5K and go up to $43 for the marathon. There may be additional fees for registering online.
The event takes place on December 21 at Woodley Park, located on 6335 Woodley Avenue. Marathon check-in and bib collection begins at 6:15 am and the race begins at 6:30 am.
