Area food festival helps local charities

The Culver City Centennial Food and Wine Festival is taking place next month, raising funds for Meals on Wheels Culver/Palms and Backpacks for Kids.

The festival is set to feature food supplied by 15 to 20 area restaurants, a variety of spirits, as well as more than 25 different wines.

Musical entertainment will be provided by Rick Joswick, DJ Gabe and Kevin G. There will also be a strolling magician, a fortune teller and psychic, and a Wolverine/Logan look-a-like who will pose for pictures. A Yelp photo booth will also be in use.

VIP tickets are available for $75 for one and $140 for two, and include chair massages, a special gift, and a goodie bag.

The Backpacks for Kids program serves about 120 families in the Culver City area. Backpacks are packed with food and other necessities that children can take home on the weekend. Meals for Meals helps provide nutritious meals for seniors living in poverty.

Printing companies often provide the printed Invitations that will be sent out for an event like this to all over the community, including nearby Northridge.

The Culver City Centennial Food and Wine Festival will be held at the Courtyard by Marriott Los Angeles Westside on July 2 from 4:00 to 8:00 PM. Admission is restricted to those aged 21 and over. Tickets are $65 each or $125 for two. Call 310-484-7000 for more information.
