Annual golf tournament provides help to school children

The 9th annual Pencils for Kids Charity Golf Classic is taking place next month in the San Fernando Valley.

Golf is a pastime that many business leaders participate in, since plenty of business is conducted and deals reached on the golf course. It is also a popular fundraising activity that raises thousands of dollars for various charities, and this event is no different. Pencils for Kids, which helps children in developing countries attend school by providing them with Backpacks and uniforms, will be the beneficiary.

Fees are $450 per player or $1,800 for a foursome (or $2,000 to include a tee sign advertising a business). Fees will include 18-holes of golf, the use of a cart, breakfast, use of the driving range, three par-3 challenges, and various contests. For those who just want to attend the cocktail party that will be held after the tournament, tickets are $60 each.

The l party will include drinks, hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, a travel sweepstake, and an awards presentation.

It is likely that many of those planning to attend from all over the Valley, including Northridge, will be bringing along their premium Business Cards to hand out.

The Golf Classic will be held at the El Caballero Country Club in Tarzana on March 20 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM. Visit the Eventbrite page for more information.
