The 22nd annual Tamale Festival and Las Posadas is taking place next month. It is presented by the City of Placentia and the Placita Santa Fe Merchants Association.
This is a 400-year-old Mexican Christmas festival that normally takes place over nine days from December 16 to 24.
After the parade, there will be plenty of family-friendly activities in Old Town Placentia. This includes musical entertainment from the Mariachi Divas as well as strolling carolers. There will be a holiday tree lighting, arts and craft vendors, and displays from local businesses. Tamales, beer and wine will be available for purchase.
Santa Claus will also be in attendance. The jolly old fellow himself will have a gift for each child, and will also pose for pictures that will no doubt make for impressive Holiday Cards.
This event takes place in the 100 to 200 block of Santa Fe Street which, will be closed off to traffic. The celebration is fully funded by sponsors and it is likely they will be recognized by signage or Banners displayed on the street.
