Black Art to be showcased in Placentia
A showcase of the best works of Black artists is making a stop in Placentia next month, providing collectors and enthusiasts a setting to appreciate the works and provide support.
The 2% - A Celebration of Black Artistry, a showcase of Black talent and creativity, will open its doors to supporters and interested parties who wish to learn more about Black Art History and the artists behind it. Guests will be able to immerse themselves and enjoy a vibrant setting to appreciate and celebrate the pieces on display.
The purpose of the showcase is to highlight the small percentage of artists who are Black, and to look at their innovation and cultural impact on art in the United States despite their smaller numbers. Poster printing is a powerful way to promote such events, combining the power of imagery and text to provide information to passersby.
Local vendors, including Hot Grease, will attend the showcase, and organizers are working together with the Brand County Project, a group that seeks to project the voices of local artists. The ultimate purpose of the event is to allow Black artists to share their truths with a broad audience.
The artistic showcase will be held at FIT Planning Group’s office in Placentia. It’s scheduled to begin at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 24th. Interested parties can register to attend for free online.
