Runners test their endurance at college race

Runners in and around Placentia can take part in the Chapman University Toyota of Orange 5K run and walk, which is now less than a month away.

The track and field certified course will take runners through historic neighborhoods, navigate the Old Towne Orange District, and then finish at the college campus. The flat, fast course will also be chip-timed.

A printing company has no doubt been busy creating promotional materials for the race. Flyers are easy to distribute on a college campus and surrounding areas.

After the race, participants can enjoy breakfast and the Finish Line Expo Village, where there will be music and activities.

Registration costs $40 until September 29. On October 2 and 3, individuals can register for $45. Registrants will be given a T-shirt, a finisher’s medal, and a swag bag. In addition, the top three male and female participants in each age group will receive a trophy. Virtual runners can sign up for $50 and receive a race shirt.

Prerace packet and bib pickup will take place on October 2 from noon until 6:00 pm at Beckman Hall on Chapman Campus. Race day packet collection will be from 6:00 am until 7:00 am at the The Fahmy Attallah, Ph.D. Piazza on campus.

The race starts on October 3 at 7:30 am at Schmid Gate at Chapman University, located on 1 University Drive in Orange
