Fitness fans in and around Placentia can start training for a spring 5K.
The Angels 5K race will start and finish in the Angel Stadium of Anaheim next month. There will also be a one-mile family fun run.
Registration costs $40 for the 5K and $30 for the fun run. The first 5,500 registrants will be given a T-shirt, medal, and a voucher to get into the Angels’ game in the evening against the Kansas City Royals.
The event will benefit the Angels Baseball Foundation, an organization that aims to make the community healthier through research, education, and treatment. The foundation also gives financial assistance to youth baseball and softball programs.
Pre-race packets and race numbers can be picked up on April 10 from 11:00 am until 5:30 pm at the stadium.

Participants should be ready to run on April 11, with race day registration beginning at 6:00 am. The 5K starts at 8:00 am, while the family fun run begins at 8:30 am. The stadium is located on 2000 East Gene Autry Way. Beginning at 5:30 am, participants can use the Orangewood entrance for free parking.
