Placentia water treatment facility to hold tour

The Yorba Linda Water District in Placentia will be hosting a tour in October led by two professionals.

The Water District PFAS Treatment Tour is an event organized by the Environmental and Water Resources Institute. During the district's program, attendees will learn about the facility’s various components. The plant started to operate in 2021 and can treat up to 25 million gallons of water per day. Attendees will be treated to lunch during the tour.

The speakers for the tour will be Danielle Logsdon and Chris Olsen. Logsdon is the principal engineer of the Yorba Linda Water District and has been working in land development and municipal civil engineering for over 18 years. She earned her degree from Cal Poly Pomona. Olsen is the director of engineering for the Orange County Water District. He received an environmental engineering degree from the University of California and began working for the County Water District in 2006. He oversees the operations of his district's engineering department.

The water treatment plant tour will be held on Thursday, October 6th from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm. The cost to attend the program is $35 per person, though students can join the tour for $15. Student prices are only available to those with valid IDs. Organizations that hold educational tours similar to this may promote their event with poster printing services.
