Placentia to give police training course

A class will be taught at the Placentia Round Table Women's Club in February to teach officers how to stay street smart.

The Street Smart Cop/Pro-Active Patrol Tactics is a lesson offered by the organization Street Cop Training where police members can learn valuable information. Designed to be humorous and exciting, the class can be beneficial to cops of any division and rank. Topics covered during the lesson include key phrases of deception, current crime trends, important motor vehicle laws, and safety tactics. The class will also go over state-specific laws and how cops can distinguish between legal and illegal police conduct.

Street Cop Training was founded by Dennis Benigno, who has experience as a corrections officer and police officer in New Jersey. He even works as an instructor for the company and has earned awards such as the Mayor's Award for Excellence in Public Service. The programs offered by the training organization discuss subjects like the fundamentals of report writing and how to identify fraudulent documents. Educational groups like this can market themselves to potential students with Posters made by Print shops.

The police training lesson will take place on February 17 from 8:00 am to 6:00 pm and will cost each attendee $299. Officers interested in the other information programs offered by Street Cop Training can find a complete list on the company's website.
