The Placentia Rotary Foundation will be organizing a cookout in September at Kraemer Memorial Park.
The Cowabunga Community Cookout is a fundraising activity that helps support local and international causes. Several restaurants will be contributing to the event, including Big B's Barbeque, El Corazon de la Casa, and Full Send Barbeque. Dessert will be provided by Campitelli Cookies. Water and soda are complimentary for attendees, though beer and wine will be available to legal drinkers for $5 per drink ticket. Seating is offered on a first-come, first-served basis.
The money raised by the Cowabunga Community Cookout helps support events such as the REACH Spelling Bee, OC Food Access Harvest, and the rotary's annual Corazon house build. A portion of the fundraiser also funds scholarships for students at El Dorado, Valencia, and El Camino Real High Schools. The cookout has raised more than $160,000 since its creation 12 years ago. Companies can sponsor the event for perks like reserved tables, VIP check-in, and complimentary alcohol tickets.
The cookout will be held on Saturday, September 17th from 3:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Tickets can be bought online for $40 or at the door for $60. Children aged 5-12 can pay $5 to attend the cookout. Guests cannot bring tents, grills, or personal tables to the event. Community fundraisers like this may use flyer printing to raise local awareness for the activity.
