Placentia golfing event to raise money for scholarships

The Marine Corps – Law Enforcement Foundation (MC-LEF) will be holding a competition at the Alta Vista Country Club in Placentia.

The Annual Southern California MC-LEF Golf Tournament is an event where people can enjoy a friendly golf contest and post-game BBQ lunch. Golfers in the tourney can also take part in Longest Drive and Closest to Pin contests. Guests may even enter the foundation’s raffle and bid on items during a silent auction. Companies interested in sponsoring the golf fundraiser can pay $100 to be a hole sponsor or $1,000 for a Corporate Sponsorship Package.

The MC-LEF is an organization that provides the children of fallen active duty agents with money to use for their education. The group was created in 1995, and Pete Haas was the foundation’s first president. Many organizations are supported by the MC-LEF, such as the Department of Justice, Homeland Security, and the Naval Criminal Investigative Service. A few of the events coordinated by the group include the Philadelphia Gala and Jim Kallstrom Memorial Golf Event.

The golf tourney will be on Monday, August 28. Registration for the contest will open at 6:30 am, and the tournament begins at 8:00 am. The cost to enter the competition is $160 per person, which includes range balls, lunch, and a goodie bag. Companies that participate in similar fundraising activities can create Promotional Products to add to goodie Bags at the events.
