Paine and Partners to purchase strawberries
In accordance with an FTC filing, Paine and Partners, a private equity firm headquartered in Foster City, is reported to be in talks with Sun Capital Partners in an effort to acquire Sunrise Growers, headquartered in Placentia.
The producer of frozen and fresh strawberries was purchased in June 2008 for a reported $32.5m by Sun Capital Partners, which itself purchased the company from Heritage Partners. Forty years after its founding, Sunrise Growers may now once again switch sponsors as talks are currently underway between Paine and Partners and Sun Capital Partners.
When companies such as Sunrise Growers are acquired by a new firm, various forms of printed materials must be adjusted to reflect the change. Catalog printing, business card printing, and other printing services may be required from local print companies in such instances. Brochure printers may also be necessary to reflect these kinds of changes on the various informational materials the company provides to its clients.
In addition to marketing and distributing frozen and fresh strawberries, Sunrise Growers produces a number of other fruit products to industrial customers, retailers, and food service operators. Paine and Partners, a company that focuses on buyout transactions, may soon add Sunrise Growers to its list of acquired food companies, which includes Icicle Foods. The business was founded by W. Dexter Paine III in 2007 and also has offices in Chicago and New York City. Paine III co-founded Fox Paine and Company as well, which is also headquartered in Foster City.
