Los Angeles County focuses on women's leadership

The ninth-annual Los Angeles County Women's Leadership Conference is set to take place this November.

The conference brings together professional women, particularly those who work within the various agencies of Los Angeles County, to develop their leadership skills and create opportunities for networking. Business Cards, résumés, and Letterheads are likely to be flying, alongside the opportunity for important developments.

The conference will take place throughout the day of November 29 at the Pasadena Convention Center. While the conference is primarily geared towards county workers, women from other professions or from neighboring Orange County cities like Anaheim or Placentia can also attend. All tickets have already been sold out, suggesting the high demand for such an event.

The conference will feature speeches and book signings from guests such as Griffith Observatory curator Dr. Laura Danly, acclaimed motivational speaker Eldonna Lewis Fernandez, and Women and Girls Initiative director Abbe Land. There will also be activities and ‘breakout sessions’ designed to facilitate networking and skill building.

The conference was first held in 2010, and has brought together all of the county's agencies since 2015. The Women's Leadership Conference has present its values by stating:

"History has taught us that the most amazing changes have come about by ordinary people courageous enough to claim the challenge of leadership. We believe that ordinary people can do extraordinary things. And we are convinced that one person with a passion can change the world!"
