Library program hosts local concert
The Placentia Library is hosting a concert with the theme ‘Welcome to the Jungle’.
The concert will feature music from the Dead Ringers, a cover band that plays tunes from the 1980s, along with other popular hits. The high-energy band performs an assortment of music and tailors the song list to the event. Along with catchy tunes, there will be food available for purchase.
The Placentia Library Friends Foundation has helped make this event possible. Through volunteering and donations, the nonprofit organization helps provide the library with a range of activities and services. No doubt the foundation has asked stationery printers to make promotional items, such as posters or flyers, for the event.
The concert is part of the adult summer reading program called ‘Paws to Read.’ Throughout the summer, there will be book discussions, presentations, and other fun activities. To take part in the summer program, participants can check out various forms of literature, including audiobooks and ebooks, to read. After completing a book, adults can fill out a ticket or a bingo card. Prizes are also available. The program culminates on August 16, on which date the library will hold a drawing for a tablet device.
The concert will take place on July 19 from noon until 2:00 pm at the Placentia Civic Center Plaza, located at 401 East Chapman Avenue. For more information, call the library at (714) 528-1906.
