Culinary showdown coming to Placentia area
The California Restaurant Association Foundation will present the Culinary Clash cooking competition next month.
High school culinary students will have the opportunity to be paired with executives from regional restaurants to compete. Surrounding communities such as Placentia are invited to attend too.
Participants will be charged with creating an appetizer along with an entrée using assigned ingredients. Judges will decide the winners at the end of the event.
Attendees will be able to sample while they watch live cooking. Music and face painting are also on the agenda. The Culinary Clash supports high school culinary arts programs.
Some of the entrants include Pacifica Hotels, California Fish Grill, Black Bear Diner, BJ Restaurant Brewhouse, and Flemings. Sponsors for the culinary event include Coca-Cola, Sysco, Ecolab, Hamilton Beach, and Foster Farms.
Banner printing is an effective method to create signage for large events of this type. The vinyl banners are sturdy, can be designed in any color combinations, and customized to sizing needed. Local printing services can handle an order for banner printing.
The cooking competition is free and open to the public. It will take place from 4:00 to 6:00 pm. Following the cooking activities, a cocktail competition for adults 21 years of age and older will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. Tickets may be purchased online.
The Culinary Clash is scheduled for Sunday, August 9, at the Anaheim Garden Walk located at 400 Disney Way.
