Anaheim celebrates at childrens festival

Families in Placentia can take a short drive to Anaheim and enjoy a fun-filled day at the 'Anaheim Children’s Festival' this weekend.

The event will feature artistic activities such as singing, painting, and drawing. Occupying more than 50 booths, local organizations will engage kids and their families with various arts and crafts. In addition, dance, puppetry and music will be performed on one of the two stages. Admission, parking, and the majority of the activities are free, while carnival-style games and food cost extra.

For 22 years, the Anaheim Arts Council (AAC) has been putting on the Children’s Festival. Established in the late 1970s, the nonprofit organization helps to promote art in the local area through events, grants, and scholarships. The AAC works with various people and businesses to put creativity in the spotlight, and individuals with a passion for art are encouraged to become involved with the council.

Booth and entertainment applications, along with sponsorship information, is all available on the ACC website. Sponsorship levels range from $100 to $7,500. It is likely that local banner printing companies were hired to make Signs for the booths, and Banners will probably be used near and above the performance stages.

The fun takes place on Saturday, May 17 from 10:00 am until 3:00 pm at the Center Street Promenade. For more information, individuals can contact Andrea Manes at (714) 991-8745.
