Petaluma residents are becoming increasingly aware of their impact on the environment, and the importance of recycling. A unique event slated to take place in September will provide a different take on this concept, and a significant amount of interest has already been generated.
It's Not Trash: Reclaiming and Transforming will be showcasing works of art that have been created from entirely recycled materials. These repurposed exhibitions are meant to highlight how the concept of trash often depends on the eye of the beholder. This installation primarily consists of textiles that had been previously discarded.
The event itself is being sponsored by Reuse Alliance in collaboration with several other community-oriented organizations. While offering plenty of opportunities for local artists who wish to display their creations, this event also doubles as a means for guests to appreciate the latest sustainable practices, and to understand how they can make lasting ecological contributions.
Festivals associated with environmental awareness will often turn to sustainable printing services when curating a marketing campaign. For instance, they may choose to only employ green materials. Real-world examples could include recycled Flyers, Banners, Brochures, and leaflets.
The It's Not Trash: Reclaiming and Transforming exhibition will open its doors on Thursday, September 17th between 5:50 PM, and 7:30 PM. It is being hosted within the Petaluma Arts Center located at 230 Lakeville Street. There is no charge to attend this event.
