Petaluma fiber farm set to offer fun on four legs

Spring is almost here, and for many Petaluma families, that means it is time to head to a local farm to visit with some of its newest residents.

The young lambs at Windrush Farm have grown enough that they are ready to meet the public, and the operation has arranged a day that will introduce guests at the farm to the process of raising sheep for wool. There will be other animals to meet as well, and the guests will find out the many ways in which naturally sourced fibers can be used.

Along with the sheep and lambs, the farm’s Jersey cow, chickens and goats will be ready for fun. The visitors may even get to feed and cuddle with some of the friendly farm animals, and can also pay a visit to the turtle pond. As the facility is a working agricultural operation, wearing sturdy footwear and comfy clothing that can stand getting dirty is highly recommended.

Being part of a gathering of this kind can be a lot of fun, and it can also offer lots of chances to learn about agriculture. A printer's graphic design department can be counted on to help prepare special T-Shirts and other clothing for the staff, which will aid in making them stand out from the farm’s guests.

Windrush Farm’s newest generation of lambs will be welcoming visitors on weekend form March 7 until March 29. It is situated at 2263 Chileno Valley Road.
