Napa indulges at culinary event

Napa foodies can spend a night indulging in something sweet while supporting a good cause later this month.

The 27th Annual Wine and Chocolate Event will allow guests to try 30 kinds of chocolates and 30 local wines. Chef Ken Frank, from La Toque restaurant, will provide gourmet sandwiches and other food. Multiple tastes will be allowed.

For entertainment, Kellie Fuller will be singing songs from the ‘Great American Songbook’ and there will also be a live broadcast from 99.3 The Vine’s Bob St. Laurent, host of the ‘Good Morning Bob Show’.

The event will benefit Napa County Family and Foster Parent Association. The organization aims to raise awareness and prevent child abuse. Furthermore, the non-profit is dedicated to helping Napa County foster children and parents, hoping to end the cyclical nature of home violence.

Tickets cost $60 per person. Since volunteers run the event, all of the proceeds will go to help Napa homes in need.

At least 400 people are expected to attend the culinary affair. To attract more guests, the event organizers might work with a postcard printing service to create a direct mailer to send to Napa residents.

The event will take place at the Westin Verasa Napa, located on 1314 McKinstry Street. Valet parking will be available and guests can mingle on the patio.

The tasting will kick off on October 26 from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm.
