What's Happening in Napa, CA…

Napa Humane to benefit from local fundraiser

Napa Humane has issued a challenge to the area, asking residents to take steps in support of animals in need.

The Walk for Animals will see people of all ages engage in community service, and it will be marking its 12th year. It will walk through downtown Yountville, and well-behaved and leashed dogs are welcome to join in the fun.

While the walk may be short, the planners say it will go a long way towards helping furry, feathery, and scaly friends in need. It will both begin and end at Yountville Community Park, and to thank everyone for registering and showing their community spirit, tee shirts with a special graphic design will be distributed. Goodie bags will be presented as well.

Along with the walk, the activity will include a silent auction, music, friendly contests, and fun just for the pets in attendance. Everyone can count on there being photo ops, and the monies raised will help animals all over Napa Valley. Donations of corporate gifts from the area's business community for use in the silent auction will also be appreciated.

The Napa Humane Walk for Animals will be held on Sunday, August 6. The fun will kick off at 8:00 am, and anyone who would like to find out how they can register or make a donation can do so on Napa Humane’s website.
