Monterey to welcome return of First Night fun

As another year winds down, Monterey is gearing up for an event that promises to kick off 2025 in high style.

First Night Monterey has become a cherished local tradition that celebrates the talents of the local artistic community. It tends to attract a crowd that numbers in the thousands, and it will be a high-energy occasion.

The festivities will get started in mid-afternoon in the community's historic downtown. It will be family friendly, and an assortment of entertainers will take the stage.

As well as the entertainment, participants will be invited to enjoy the Twilight Procession. It will feature bands as well as large scale sculptures, dance groups, costumes, and puppets in an activity that will be reminiscent of Mardi Gras in New Orleans. There will be a feast of sound, light, and color, and all ages can take in the spectacle.

To add some final touches of fun, the organizers explained that there will be art cars and murals that may be suitable for selfies. A brochure printing company can prepare event guides, maps, and other materials for a special occasion.

First Night Monterey will once again be showing the city’s creative side on December 31, and admission passes and additional information for those interested in being part of the Twilight Procession can be found on its website. The fun starts at 3:00 pm.
