The 2020 Walk To End Alzheimer’s will be hosted in Monterey this October.
Created by the Alzheimer’s Association, this annual fundraiser raises public awareness of Alzheimer’s and other Forms of dementia, and supports the continued research of these common cognitive diseases.
This year, the Monterey Walk To End Alzheimer’s will take place virtually. Participants can register for free online as an individual or a team. Each person who takes part in the event can download the Walk to End Alzheimer’s mobile app to track and share their progress as they walk any route. Similar virtual events benefit from advertisements created through poster printing, which makes it easy for organizers to distribute event information to many local facilities.
Participants may also view the virtual Explore Walk Mainstage, which features more information about the mission and efforts of the Alzheimer’s Association, sponsor booths, and witness the opening ceremony for the Promise Garden.
This year, the Alzheimer’s Association has set a funding goal of $172,000. Event participants can raise money by setting fundraising goals online from $100 to $2,500. Anyone who wishes to can make an independent donation to the organization online.
The Walk to End Alzheimer’s is scheduled to take place on Saturday, October 17 from any location in the city from 9:00 am to 12:00 noon.
