Monterey is set to join communities all over the world in welcoming the arrival of 2022, and as the fun will run from the afternoon on into the night, all ages can enjoy the celebration.
The city’s downtown district will be the venue for the New Beginnings first night festivities, which will be alcohol free. Not even bad weather will be enough to stop the celebrations, and it will be an event that lets creativity shine.
The function will begin with an opening ceremony at Colton Lawn stage, which is located on Pacific Street. The kids can then enjoy activities planned with them in mind, and the evening will see a twilight procession wind its way along Alvarado Street. There will be interactive art installations and music to suit every taste. This will all be capped off with a grand finale and countdown.
For the safety of all, ticket holders, performers and staff will all need to present proof of vaccination or a negative Covid test, as well as a valid photo ID. Stationery printers will be able to prepare waivers and other documents that aid in taking care of the administrative side of hosting a large event.
