Monterey is very fond of its fine feathered friends, and these creatures will be taking pride of place during an upcoming festival.
The Monterey Bay Festival of Birds will celebrate all things avian, and it has been organized by Bird School Project. There are lots of activities on its agenda, and it will help both new and experienced birders to pick up some new techniques while also sparking an interest in environmental stewardship.
The three day activity will offer birding outings as well as an assortment of workshops. With some luck, the attendees may even be able to add some new “lifers” to their list , a Birder’s Night market and Birds and Brews trivia night at both in the works. Registration for the assortment of outings and learning activities will go live on August 11st and they are expected to fill up quickly.
To help raise awareness of the event as well as birds and conservation in general, the organizers of the festival have had a graphic design prepared and printed on both short and long sleeved shorts. These can be purchased online through the Bird School Project website.
This salute to Monterey Bay’s birds, from the humble city pigeon to hawks, eagles and the birds of prey, will welcome one and all with activities running from October 11th to October 13th. Additional details about venues and timings can be found on the organizer's website.
