A cat show is on the way to entertain Monterey fans of the furry, four-legged set.
For two days in February, the Monterey Fairgrounds will be hosting the Steinbeck Visits Steinbeck County show to celebrate all breeds of cats. It is being presented by East of Eden Cat Fanciers, and it will be the 46th year for the activity.
The show, which is open to all ages, will give both cat show aficionados and the general public an opportunity to see both specific and mixed breed cats enjoy some time in the spotlight. The entry clerk duties for the function will be performed by Shauntay Burris. Those who would like to show a cat will also be able to reserve additional grooming spaces. Awards will be presented to the top entries in an assortment of categories.
Along with providing an opportunity for the public to learn more about cats, the show organizers are also hoping to attract a selection of area vendors. Anyone who has feline-related Promotional Products or other items to offer is asked to contact Carol Barton at (831) 601-3222.
The East of Eden Cat Fanciers club has made plans to welcome area feline fans for this event on February 25th and 26th. Its website is the place for vendors, the general public and anyone who plans on entering their favorite cat to gather more information.
