Monterey Bay has a reputation for being a great spot to see whales, and an outing will give members of the public a chance to visit them in person.
At least five species of toothed and baleen whales, as well as dolphins and sea birds, call the Bay home, and Whalenerds Expedition has planned a boat trip to their ocean home. It can be a good fit for those who have never gone whale watching, as well as photographers and experienced nature lovers.
Departing from Moss Landing, those who participate will climb aboard Blue Ocean Whale Watch's High Spirits for their six-hour outing, and they will leave the dock early in the day. As it is the spring, the passengers may see lots of species, although this cannot be guaranteed. Each trip can accommodate up to 25 passengers, and single-day tickets are $225.00. For their safety, children age three and under cannot be accommodated.
Each passenger will receive a light breakfast, but they will need to supply their own snacks and lunch. Everyone will receive some small Corporate Gifts, as well as a photo package which will be distributed via email.
The dates for these special whale watches will be April 21 and 23. More details about the sailings, as well as what to expect, can be found on the Whalenerds website.
