Challenging obstacle course to take place in Monterey

  • 2021-07-05
Monterey will be hosting a Spartan event in late August.

This race, called the Spartan Super, is 10km, featuring 25 obstacles racers will have to face. Those who compete in this are eligible for the Spartan Trifecta. The order of the items in the race is not set, allowing for a test of quick thinking, as well as avoiding an advantage for those who have run before.

Only registered racers are allowed to attend at this time. There will be Signs with the Spartan Logo Design in the parking space to point racers in the right direction. Shuttles to the starting line will also be available.

Those who finish the race will receive many gift items in return for their effort. These include the Badass Super Finisher Medal which can be personalized, a piece of the Trifecta Medal, a hard lemonade from Mike’s or a non-alcoholic beverage from Athletic Brewing Company, a Super Finisher shirt, professional pictures, Honey Stinger Fuel, FITAID, and the all-important bragging rights.

Groups of runners will start 15 minutes apart, each one consisting of 150 or more. Registration opens at 6:30 am. The elite groups will start at 7:30 am and 7:45 am, men and then women respectively. Age groups start from 8:00 am to 8:45 am, morning starts are from 9:00 am to 12:45 pm, and afternoon times begin at 1:00 pm. The time for the last heat will be on the event website 10 days before.

The date of the event is August 21.
