What's Happening in Lancaster, CA…

Local groups sponsor food and toy event

A drive-thru grocery and giveaway of toys will be hosted by the Antelope Valley Transit Authority (AVTA), which is partnering with several other sponsors later this month.

This event will be held at the AVTA bus facility in Lancaster, where residents of the community will be able to collect their season turkey and stuffing, along with other groceries for meals during the holiday season, as well as clothing or toys for children.

The city of Lancaster, the AVTA, Lancaster Toyota, and Antelope Valley Chevrolet are among some of the organizations making donations to this event, known as Stuff-a-Bus. Other charities involved in the distribution of the groceries and other items include Antelope Valley Partners for Health, South Antelope Valley Emergency Services of Palmdale, the Marco and Sandra Johnson Foundation, and Grace Resource Center. The logo design of such charities and organizations are often printed on packages to demonstrate their dedication to those in need.

Marvin Crist, chairman of the board of the AVTA, said that his company is committed to working with those in the community to bring some holiday cheer to those in need. He expressed his thrill is being able to make such a difference in the community and to serve residents with the assistance of many other generous organizations.

This drive-thru and giveaway will be held on Sunday, December 20 from noon until 3:00 pm.
